With over 25 years of clinical experience in a variety of settings, I have assisted hundreds of individuals, couples, and families to overcome difficulties related to anxiety, depression, trauma, neurodiversity (including ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorders), and adjustment to stressful personal, familial, social, and global changes. In addition, working in Tompkins County for the past 20 years has given me the opportunity to develop strong collaborations with, and knowledge of, additional health and human services in our area. As a result, I am able to skillfully and efficiently assist clients to access other beneficial types of community support.

My work is client-led, LGBTQ+ affirming, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive. I offer expertise in a number of evidence-based therapy approaches. I also know that the quality of the therapeutic relationship is at the heart of any successful course of therapy. Therefore, my approach to therapy is one that honors the complexity of each person's unique set of life experiences, social identities, and their worldview. It is critical that everyone seeking support through mental health services receives care that is informed, affirmative, and responsive to the individual's core identities and social contexts. As a White, straight, cis-male therapist, I recognize how triggering my very presence could be for individuals who have experienced oppressive harm from people from one or more of the identity groups I represent. For 30 years, I have worked to understand and unlearn subtle and overt microaggressions and other harmful, biased behavior, so that I can provide high-quality, affirming services to whomever seeks my support. This is a lifelong inquiry for me, and one that I regard with the greatest importance, both as a therapist and as a human living in a world bursting with vibrant diversity
